Rebecca G. Olson, Esq.
Rebecca G. Olson is the founder and managing member of Olson & Associates, PLC. She concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, business formation and maintenance, family law, general litigation, and estate planning and administration. She also provides mediation services to help settle disputes in these areas of law. A native of the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania, Becky graduated from the Pennsylvania State University School of Journalism, after which she worked in newspapers and advertising before moving to Vermont in 1983. Three years after arriving in Vermont, Becky initiated a four year law office clerkship sponsored by the Vermont Supreme Court. She took the Vermont bar exam and became admitted to the Vermont Bar in 1990 and worked at another general practice Stowe law firm until 1995, when she decided to form her own law firm.
Over the past 19 years, Becky has brought together a diverse staff of attorneys, paralegals and support staff in order to provide a wide range of legal services to support her “team approach” business philosophy. Although Becky manages all aspects of the law firm, one attorney oversees each case but draws off the knowledge and research of other members of the firm in order to provide each case with the best possible information and outcome.
In addition to providing client services, Becky donates her time to the court system by teaching a class at the courthouse to litigants without attorneys, explaining the court process and how to best present themselves and their cases to the court. In addition, probate and family court judges appoint Becky to represent the elderly and mentally impaired in guardianship cases as well as children caught in the middle of domestic disputes.
Becky has long been a passionate supporter of animal rights and has donated hundreds of hours to the North Country Animal League, formerly known as the Lamoille County Humane Society, in creating laws to protect animal rights as well as providing the more day to day legal assistance to NCAL.
Becky supports the community in other ways as well. She was board member and past president of the Lamoille Valley Chamber of Commerce, board member of United Way of Lamoille County, advisory board member of NCAL, and a member of Waterbury Rotary.
Becky is a member of the Vermont and Lamoille County Bar Associations, and the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association, of which she sits on the board of directors. She has also sat on the Lamoille County Reparative Probation Board.
Becky lives in the hills of Waterbury with her husband, Vini Sassone, where they are avid bikers, hikers, skiers and sailors.back to top
